Marisa believes that through one on one and small group teaching, she is able to get to the heart of learning with any student, personalizing the meaning and instruction of the material being presented. In her sessions, students are given face to face interaction, facilitation and coaching to help them find the confidence to take back to the classroom. Her goal is to teach to each student’s strengths and minimize their perceived weaknesses.
Marisa hopes to fill a different type of role for her students. Personal relationships are the foundation to student success and Marisa’s goal is to build a connection with each of her students and parents based on trust and respect. With this relationship, she is able to tap into each student’s interests, making learning relevant, valuable and authentic.
Marisa strongly believes in open and frequent communication across the board. Communication with all stakeholders is established and encouraged, creating a “team approach.” The insight she receives from teachers and parents is important to her success plan for students.
